Dofollow adalah istilah yang diberikan untuk halaman atau situs yang tidak menggunakan nofollow. Nofollow adalah atribut pada hyperlink yang memerintahkan  search engine untuk mencegah lewatnya kredibilitas atau pengaruh ke suatu outbound link. Semula diciptakan untuk membantu komunitas blogging mengurangi jumlah link yang masuk pada bagian komentar suatu halaman blog, atribut ini sekarang menjadi standar pada komentar blog.Nofollow membantu para webmaster menghadang spammer mendapatkan keuntungan dengan menyusupkan link yang tidak diinginkan pada suatu halaman yang banyak dikunjungi.

Sebagai akibat dari penggunaan nofollow: link building terkena imbas luas, banyak situs termasuk Wikis, social bookmarking site, blog korporat dan personal, plugin dan banyak applet lain di internet mulai menerapkan nofollow. Ini membuat link building menjadi sulit dikerjakan baik bagi spammer maupun bukan. Tidak ada salahnya mendapatkan nofollow link. Sebenarnya harus diusahakan mendapatkan jumlah seimbang antara dofollow dannofollow link. Walaupun tidak mengalirkan link juice, nofollow link ini membantu mempopulerkan situs kita dengan anchor text.
